What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files or pieces of information that can be stored on your computer (or on other Internet-enabled devices such as smartphones or tablets). They are recognised by a unique key or "identifier" that is linked to your computers or other (mobile) devices. They are used to optimise your user experience on your favourite websites because they remember your actions and preferences. As a result, it is not necessary to specify your navigation preferences every time you use the website. You can think of page preferences such as location, font or language.
The "cookies" are stored in your computer's RAM. They do not enable us to identify you; however, they store information relating to the navigation of your computer on the website (the pages you have visited, the date and time of the visit, etc.), which we can read on your subsequent visits. The purpose of this data collected by means of "cookies" is to recognise you when you want to connect to our website (and your personal page) and to store this connection.
Below is a summary of all the different types of cookies we can use for the Dutch Bel Group websites. We invite you to read more about how these cookies are used for a smooth use of the website, to be able to view suitable content and to benefit from a better view of the website. The ultimate purpose of these cookies is to provide you with a better service.

10. DATA RETENTION BY BEL
In accordance with the law, your PD will not be kept for longer than necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected and processed.
As the retention period depends on the purpose of a processing, it may vary. The criteria we use to determine the retention period are specifically as follows:
11. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Under the GDPR you have certain rights with respect to your PD. BEL Group cooperates in the exercise of your rights. You may at any time request information about which PD of yours Bel Group is processing. If this PD is incorrect, you may request that it be amended.
You can send your requests to: firstname.lastname@example.org. You also have the right to object to the processing of your PD in the manner described above. If BEL Group processes your PD purely on the basis of your consent, it will stop processing your PD in that case. If BEL Group has an interest in (continuing) processing your PD, it will weigh that interest against your objection and inform you immediately whether and how it can meet your objection. If you address one of the requests or objections described above to BEL Group, BEL Group will need to ensure that the PD to which the request or objection pertains is actually yours. BEL Group may therefore ask you to show your proof of identity.
12. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA OF THIRD PARTIES
Some of our websites offer you the possibility to forward a link to third parties. In that case, we are required to collect both your email address and that of the third party in question. These email addresses are only collected for the purpose of forwarding the link, after which BEL removes them immediately.
13. PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S PERSONAL DATA
BEL Group would also like to serve young lovers of its products and to involve them in BEL Group products. If children communicate with BEL Group or take part in campaigns, BEL Group believes that their parents should be able to obtain information about the relationship that the company and its brands maintains with their children. Legal representatives (e.g. parents/carers) can therefore submit the same requests and objections for their children under 16 with regard to their children's PD as described in section 11. If you address any of the requests or objections described above to BEL Group, BEL Group will need to ensure that the PD to which the request or objection pertains actually relates to a child whose legal representative you are. BEL Group may ask you to provide proof of this.
