As of September '19, we offer a postdoctoral fellowship for a PhD graduate in Food Technology. In this position you'll mainly work from the Wageningen University, but will be regularly present on the industrial site of The Bel Group in Schoonrewoerd. Our Applied Research department is continuously aiming to raise new scientific and technical knowledge in order to increase the Bel Group's knowhow and technological potential. This newly created position is part of the Structure-Function team, which is working on structure development of our cheese products and its potential impact on the functional properties (mainly sensory).
In this position you'll be in contact with both the academic as well as the industrial environment. The development of our products depends critically on new scientific insights, in which you perform a leading role. In this setting, you participate in the transfer of scientific insights into real-time application, and perform fundamental scientific research (with the possibility of publication) to fill the knowledge gaps that we currently have on the functional properties of sustainable materials. You maintain in close contact with our R&D team, providing advice in the development and implementation phases of new research methodologies.
We are looking for a candidate with a completed study and PhD degree in Food Technology or equivalent. Moreover, you possess excellent communication skills and like to connect and work with a variety of people in- and outside the academic world.
Bel Group's open and informal culture provides you with the opportunity to take full command of your work and research.
